OUR STORY

Over a decade in, and still swinging.

We started with one app, one state, and one very stubborn belief that education could be built better. Here’s how it went.

 

THE BEGINNING


Blake starts Aceable at Capital Factory, Austin.

One idea, a domain name (that his mom didn’t like), and a healthy naivety for how hard this was going to be.

 

FIRST COURSE


Texas Parent-Taught Driver’s Ed launches.

Real students. Real licenses. The mission becomes real too.

 

VALIDATION


Series A funding secured from Silverton and Floodgate.

Turns out, investors like it when the model works. Aceable raises its Series A and starts building for scale.

 

EXPANSION


AceableAgent launches, our first real estate course.

Driver’s ed was just the beginning. The platform that powered one vertical could power many. We set out to prove it.

 

SCALE


Series B with Sageview. Acquires I Drive Safely & Driversed.com.

One funding round. One acquisition. One very busy year. Aceable becomes the market leader in driver’s education.

The quote that started it all.  In 2013, Blake started Aceable at Capital Factory in Austin because he believed licensing education was broken and he had the stubbornness to do something about it. He stacked his daily actions to building the company students and employees deserved. Before Aceable, he spent six years at Ernst & Young.

Over a decade and 20 million students later, he’s still the most energized person in the room. And these days, that energy is almost entirely directed at using AI to serve students better than anyone thought possible. Blake believes intelligent, adaptive education isn’t a feature or a roadmap item but the whole point. He’s a husband, a dad of three, a California kid who found his home in Austin.
